About me

My name is Cassie Catchpole and I’m a Creative Producer and Festival Director working in contemporary performance and outdoor arts. I’m based in Tendring, Essex and have been working in the arts industry for 10 years. My work centres on making art accessible in as many contexts as possible, which reflects my core value that culture should be easily available to everyone, especially those who face barriers to culture.

As a contemporary performance producer, I work with independent artists, both emerging and established, as well as organisations including regional theatres and International theatre companies. I work in traditional venues as well as site specific non-traditional spaces (caravans, shop fronts, community spaces etc) to create opportunities to engage with culture.

I currently work for the pioneers of street theatre, The Grand Theatre of Lemmings and contemporary performance artist, Louise Orwin whilst also running my own outdoor arts festival, Fresh Air Festival in Essex. I recently worked for Gecko and Good Chance Theatre, creating a bespoke piece of physical theatre with 30 young performers and 10 professionals.

I also worked for 4 years at Arts Council England as a Touring Relationship Manager for the South East until April 2024, which gives me an excellent understanding into their strategy and how to successfully secure grants, which benefits those I work with.

Facts about me: I have a dog called Blue. I’m half Dutch. I have 8 tattoos & counting. I live by the sea. I’m a winter solstice baby and have just turned 40.
